Saturday afternoon with Duncan Cooper

A crowd of fifty or more enjoyed an afternoon of music by the Duncan Cooper Trio at The Parrott Gallery, Belleville Public Library. Generously sponsored by Roli Tipper of Tipper Financial.

My personal favorite?

Poinciana written by Nat Simon in 1936, adapted from a Cuban folk tune “La canción del árbol” (“The song of the tree”).  You MAY remember it from Ahmad Jamal’s performance of this song in the 1995 film The Bridges of Madison County.
