On the trail by 5:30 to capture this serene image of the rising sun on Glacier Lake then onto yet another Significant River Crossing of Turner Glacier runoff. We’re all getting pretty good at crab-walking across the rushing water and leaning forward on our hiking poles to brace ourselves.
07:30 – Breakfast on the four-story-high Turner Glacier moraine.
16:00 – Another spectacular day of hiking —maybe 15C and no wind — until we approached Caribou Glacier and our last river crossing of the day.
Just a few raindrops as we trudged into Summit Lake Campground and set up our tents within the rock shelters, built by previous campers to protect and secure tents from the typically wild winds.
