Better to lose…?

I entered three images in the 2011 The Rotarian photo contest and …none of them were chosen. Disappointment changed to delight when the editor decided to run a feature story, using two of my three submitted images.
What’s the message: Jurors are people — and people are subjective. The juror (Harry Benson) may (or may not!) have liked my submitted images but not enough to select them. But the editor did.
What’s the lesson: Don’t take rejection personally.
Going forward? Keep snapping photos. Keep entering contests. Study the winning photos. Keep learning !
